ONE HEALTH

Background information

At the core of our mission lies the One Health approach, committed to safeguarding not just human well-being, but that of the ecosystems where humans and animals live. Focusing on diseases where wildlife plays a crucial role—often classified as emerging, re-emerging, and transboundary—the ENETWILD Consortium is actively supporting the establishment of an integrated disease surveillance system.

This initiative aims to actively integrate wildlife population monitoring tools with disease surveillance activities.

In pursuit of this objective, experts within the consortium meticulously review existing scientific knowledge and gather essential data from stakeholders across Europe.

Utilizing a variety of scientific tools, we capture current insights into prevailing needs and strategies to improve pathogens surveillance and control.

These endeavors not only guide our current actions but also lay the groundwork for future directions and perspectives in wildlife population monitoring.
