DATA COLLECTION
- First, we will implement a data collection model on wild boar distribution and abundance for wild boar (see link below)
- ENETWILD strategy is based on the principle that validation of data on distribution and abundance of wildlife species must be done with scientific guarantees
- Standards will allow users to share and more easily use spatial data at the European level.
- 1. First, we will elaborate a census and description of available databases about species’ distribution and abundance
- 2. Data gaps will be identified
- 3. We will promote the generation of data for the first time for certain species, areas, Countries or habitats
- We will promote harmonized protocols for generation of data based on APHAEA cards, which will be continuously revised and updated
- At the end, users will have access to a repository of validated data, and administrations will make better informed decisions when required.
